The San Quentin Project collects a largely unseen visual record of daily life inside one of America's oldest and largest prisons, demonstrating how this archive of the state is now being used to teach visual literacy and process the experience of incarceration. In 2011, Nigel Poor-artist, educator, and cocreator of the acclaimed podcast Ear Hustle-began teaching a history of photography class through the Prison University Project at San Quentin State Prison. Neither books nor cameras were allowed into the facility, so an unorthodox course with a range of inventivemapping exercises ensued: students crafted "verbal photographs" of memories for which they had no visual documentation, and annotated iconic images from different artists. After the first semester, Poor says, "one student told me he could now see fascination everywhere in San Quentin." When Poor received access to thousands of negatives in the prison's archive, made by corrections officers of a former era, these images of San Quentin's everyday occurrences soon became launchpads for her students' keen observations. From the banal to the brutal, to distinct moments of respite, the pictures in this archive gave those who were involved in the project the opportunity to share their stories and reflections on incarceration.

According to its chemical composition, honey is a complex mixture of over 70 ingredients, which enter honey in a variety of ways. Not only do the different types of honey differ, but the honey within each species differs in its composition depending on its herbal and geographical origin, climatic conditions, the type of bees, and the work of the beekeeper. In this book, Chapters One provides an assessment of geographical origins of honey by the use of chemometrics. Chapter Two presents the profile of physicochemical parameters of 40 samples of the black locust honey from Krapina-Zagorje region monitored by the season. Chapter Three examines the prebiotic and probiotic properties of honey. Chapter Four gives an updated review of traditional and modern uses of honey. Chapter Five explore the actual knowledge on honeys properties, in terms of cellular and molecular effects induced by the bees products on skin care and wound management.

El presente trabajo es una contribucion etnografica sobre los procesos electorales en la region maya de Campeche en la peninsula de Yucatan. Es una invitacion a replantear preguntas de investigacion sobre la relacion politica-sociedad, mas que a resolver cuestiones especificas de la politica electoral. Los procesos politicos no se agotan en la arena electoral, por lo que se pretende acentuar lo que a las personas les es importanta como critica y utopia. Se muestra como las elecciones internas entre precandidatos del partido politico en el poder tienden a ser mas importantes para los electores, puesto que el dia de las elecciones nadie duda que partido ganara."
